You land in Greenland’s capital, Nuuk – a place where modern life meets Arctic nature. At the airport, our local representative will greet you and ensure a smooth check-in at the centrally located Hotel Hans Egede Express.

After settling in, you have the option to join a guided city tour that introduces you to Nuuk’s history, architecture, and everyday life – from the Colonial Harbor to the city’s modern cultural venues.

In the evening, we recommend dinner at one of Nuuk’s cozy restaurants, where Greenlandic ingredients and views of the fjord set the tone for the rest of your journey.

After breakfast, your journey continues north to Ilulissat – the town by the Icefjord. Even during the approach, you’ll get a preview of what awaits you: gigantic icebergs in Disko Bay. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to Hotel Arctic, where you will check in.

After a short information meeting with our local representative, you can join a guided city tour of the historic old town, where you learn about Knud Rasmussen, the fishing culture, and daily life in the town shaped by ice.

In the evening, a welcome dinner is served at Hotel Arctic (beverages not included).

After breakfast, you can explore on your own or join an excursion.

Sermermiut (part of the excursion package)

Join a guided hike to Sermermiut – a historic settlement site with more than 4,000 years of human history. You walk along wooden boardwalks through the Arctic landscape and arrive at a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking Ilulissat Icefjord. It is a place where silence speaks, and where the weight of history feels close and vivid.

In the afternoon, you may choose to visit some of the town’s museums – for example, Knud Rasmussen’s birthplace or the Ilulissat Art Museum.

The evening can be rounded off with a gourmet dinner at Restaurant Ulo, where Greenlandic ingredients and Nordic gastronomy come together beautifully.

Today offers one of the absolute highlights of the trip: a cruise among the iconic icebergs of Ilulissat Icefjord – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But first, you will meet the sled dogs.

In the afternoon, you visit the Greenlandic sled dogs – an authentic experience where you get close to the animals and learn about their important role in Arctic life.

Icefjord cruise (part of the excursion package)

The rest of the day is free for your own activities.

Boat trip to Ilimanaq (optional add-on – not available on trips with departure on April 16 or 23)

Today, you can join a boat trip past the mouth of the Icefjord to the small settlement of Ilimanaq. Around 50 people live here, and you can experience life in a settlement up close.
You visit a local family where food and coffee are served, gaining insight into daily life, traditions, and the warm hospitality that characterizes Greenlandic settlements.
After the visit, you return to Ilulissat by boat.

In the afternoon, you may take a hike along the Yellow or Blue Trail and enjoy the sweeping views of mountains and icebergs.

After breakfast, it is time to pack and say farewell to Ilulissat. You fly from Ilulissat to Nuuk and continue onward to Copenhagen – enriched with experiences and with a camera full of icebergs, settlement life, and Arctic memories.
